This week, June 18-22, is Typhoon and Flood Awareness Week in the Philippines, and who better to entrust with this than PAGASA, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, a line agency of the Department of Science and Technology.

The theme this year is “Panahon na naman ng Bagyo at Baha: Maging Handa,” which means “It is Typhoon and Flood season: Be Prepared.”

As part of the week’s activities, PAGASA will be carrying out education and communications activities. PAGASA is part of the Philippine e-Science Grid Program, an umbrella program for the country’s national grid projects.

The week-long activities are in collaboration with the Typhoon Committee Foundation Incorporated and Philippine Science Journalists Association, Inc.
