The Exascale Computing Research centre is a joint laboratory between Intel, CEA, Genci and UVSQ. It is focused on collectively understanding the challenges involved in scaling software from today's capabilities and be ready to take advantage of the innovative architectures leading to ExaScale high-performance computers (supercomputers) expected before the end of this decade.
The mission of the lab is to explore existing technologies (tools, algorithms and programming models) enabling exascale applications and to identify what needs to be modified or re-written. Analysing and characterizing applications using highly profiled tools will guide the changes to be made and support the performance model on forthcoming architectures.
