Understanding the human brain

As well as having the potential to revolutionize our understanding of the brain, the Human Brain Project will also build new platforms for 'neuromorphic computing' and 'neurorobotics', allowing researchers to develop new computing systems and robots based on the architecture and circuitry of the brain. International Supercomputing Conference (ISC) recently announced that it will be giving the Human Brain Project, led by Henry Markram of EPFL, Switzerland, a platform at the annual event for the next 10 years to share their latest research findings. Their first talk, 'Supercomputing & the Human Brain Project – Following Brain Research & ICT on their 10-Year Quest', will be held on Tuesday, June 18 at ISC'13 in Leipzig, Germany. Find out more about the project in this video and read our in-depth interview with Markram, here.
