Hunting exoplanets with Kepler and Kraken

Today's Kraken favors numbers instead of devouring sailors: This high-performance computer is managing the mountains of data streaming from NASA’s Kepler space telescope and is helping the search for Earth-like planets that orbit their stars in the 'Goldilocks Zone'.

A second life in Africa

On 30 August, 220 computer servers from CERN will start a journey to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), in Ghana, Africa. This will provide a new computing center for KNUST and enable African students to participate  in simulations of LHC data.
