Europe’s leading research centres, including CERN, EMBL, ESA, ECMWF, ESRF and ILL are actively investigating with European commercial service providers the use of cloud services to support their scientific programs.
The results and progress of these investigations, performed in the context of the Helix Nebula Initiative, will be presented in the context of the Helix Nebula & PICSE Open Day event 'Towards a European Open Science Cloud' on 26 June 2015 at CERN, in Geneva, Switzerland. The event will explore how the implementation of the Digital Single Market can improve the uptake of cloud services and the active role that the Helix Nebula Initiative and PICSE project can play in establishing a European open science cloud.
