Registration is open for the third Grid and e-Collaboration Workshop for the Earth Science Community, to be held 16 and 17 January 2008 in Frascati, Italy.

Abstract submissions are also invited.

The conference will bring together large earth science data repositories and high-performance scientific data processing applications, and will be an opportunity to enable and support new collaborations between research projects and operational services providers.

This year’s workshop focuses on data repositories, presenting updates on recent developments and reviewing and analyzing emerging community requirements.

The workshop will bring together academic institutes and industry with the aim of developing a community view of challenges, working solutions and sustainability through the fostering of new earth observation business opportunities.

As such, the workshop responds in particular to the plans established by the earth science community in the context of several European Commission funded projects, such as DEGREE, BEINGRID, DILIGENT, CASPAR and the ready-to-start GENESI-DR, and D4SCIENCE.
