NASA does networking flow

The NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division (NAS) recently released a technical whitepaper that "reviews shortcomings in common flow collection sources and describes how to create a functional and centralized management system that allows engineers to easily identify, track, and troubleshoot network flows displaying sub-optimal performance."
The method outlined makes use of a flow analysis tool NASA developed in-house, which has been in use for over a year now. It apparently has allowed their engineers to "proactively and automatically identify performance bottlenecks, resulting in increased end-to-end data transfer rates for many users."
