The GES 2007 conference, to be held from May 2–4 in the city of Baden-Baden, is open for registration. The German national e-Science framework is an initiative funded by the German ministry for education and research to promote grid computing, knowledge networking, computer-based learning and open access in all science domains. The conference will provide a place for members of the German e-Science community to present results in talks, posters and demonstrations, for the international community to get an overview of the progress of e-Science in Germany and for potential users to meet experts in the field of e-science. Keynote speakers are Ian Foster, Argonne National Laboratory; Andreas Reuter, EML Research; and Gerhard Weikum, Max-Planck Institute for Informatics. Highlight speakers are Dieter Kranzlmüeller, Johannes Kepler Universität, Linz; Carl Lagoze, Cornell University; David Kirsh University of California, San Diego; and Sijbolt Noorda, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
