Uppsala, Sweden, has been selected as the site of the EGEE User Forum, to be held 12-16 April, 2010. The conference will be organized by the Swedish EGEE partner SNIC with its Stockholm (PDC) and Uppsala (UPPMAX) centers. The conference will take place at the centrally located Uppsala University building, in the city of Uppsala. (See map.) The conference location will be in a historic university environment, which dates back as far as 1477. The city also holds a rich past, having for long periods been the political, religious and academic center of Sweden. The proximity to the capital, Stockholm, provides additional benefits as a potential site for arranging both pre- and post- conference tours, as well as for excursions or tourism during the conference — such as to the gardens of naturalist Carl von Linné, founder of the modern system for naming, ranking and classifying plants and animals. The city of Uppsala is easy to reach by plane, train or car. Check upcoming issues of the iSGTW announcements section for details about registration and accommodations. |
