Editorial: Introducing iSGTW's New Editor

With this issue, I begin my tenure as Editor-in-Chief of International Science Grid this Week. As a lover of science, I am delighted at the opportunity to join this unique publication and to put my efforts to work on behalf of the scientific grid community.

The grid community is growing increasingly collaborative and international, a trend manifested in the development of iSGTW itself.  From its origins as a U.S. publication it has grown into an international newsletter, with editors on several continents. We aim to maintain the vision of iSGTW as a dynamic, international publication focused on the role of grids in scientific research. iSGTW will tell the stories of projects, scientists, their lives and their achievements. It will highlight the science brought to light by grids as much as the grids themselves.

In the future, we hope to expand the breadth of our offerings to our community. We look forward to covering stories from new areas and disciplines, as grids begin to emerge in the more and more countries. We also plan to add multimedia content to our site and would like to feature more opinion pieces.

As always, we welcome your story suggestions, your insights and opinions. I look forward to working with you in the days ahead.

- Danielle Venton, iSGTW Editor-in-Chief
